Relationship Counselling

We offer Couples Counselling to support you in addressing what requires attention concerning your relationship(s)

Relationship Counselling

Relationship Counselling (sometimes also known as Couples Counselling or Couples Therapy) affords an opportunity to work through what needs attended to in your relationship. It can help with many issues that can arise in the context of a relationship including: depression; isolation; mental ill health; moving in together; parenting children; affairs; work pressures and/or the loss of employment; retirement; and other life changes or developments that have had an impact on your relationship.

What to Expect

You will be offered time and space in a safe and confidential environment to explore what is significant to you and your relationship. The therapist will listen and respond to you in a non-judgemental way. Sessions are weekly in regularity, ideally at the same time each week. Sessions last 50 minutes . The therapist will not offer you advice or suggest any solutions regarding your relationship but will help you to explore what is significant to enable you to move forward.

Appointments

A stand-alone initial session/consultation is offered in the first instance during which you can explore your reasons for coming and think together with the therapist regarding whether coming for sessions my be beneficial. Where it is agreed that relationship counselling may be of help to you, a fixed number of sessions (usually 8) are scheduled. These will be once a week and, as far as possible, on the same day and at the same time each week. It is usually possible to continue beyond this contract of sessions if required.
